Summer
Undergraduate Neuroscience (SUN) Program
Undergraduate students
from any college or university can spend the summer working in the
Lions Laboratories with LSU Eye Center faculty. As part of the Summer
Undergraduate Neuroscience (SUN) Program, these students get
hands-on experiences in laboratory research and education to develop
their interests in medicine and research as a career. Students also
attend formal lectures in such areas as human genetics, molecular
and developmental neurobiology.
Certified
Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) Program
The LSU Eye Center in
collaboration with the School
of Allied Health Professions provides education leading to a
Bachelor of Science degree in ophthalmic medical technology.
Ophthalmic technicians work with physicians to provide eye care
by performing diagnostic testing, administrating therapeutic/diagnostic
agents, administering assessment tests, training patients on ophthalmic
equipment, and assisting in common ophthalmic surgery. Click
