Summer Undergraduate Neuroscience (SUN) Program

Undergraduate students from any college or university can spend the summer working in the Lions Laboratories with LSU Eye Center faculty. As part of the Summer Undergraduate Neuroscience (SUN) Program, these students get hands-on experiences in laboratory research and education to develop their interests in medicine and research as a career. Students also attend formal lectures in such areas as human genetics, molecular and developmental neurobiology.

Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) Program

The LSU Eye Center in collaboration with the School of Allied Health Professions provides education leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in ophthalmic medical technology.  Ophthalmic technicians work with physicians to provide eye care by performing diagnostic testing, administrating therapeutic/diagnostic agents, administering assessment tests, training patients on ophthalmic equipment, and assisting in common ophthalmic surgery.
