About the LSU Eye Center

The LSU Eye Center’s clinic relocated tothe Ochsner Baptist Medical Campus in New Orleans in June, 2006. The 5,800 square-foot clinic includes 6 examination rooms and photography. Optometric and low vision care is also available at a private clinic in Slidell, approximately 40 miles away. In January, 2007, University Hospital reopened at its original location at the LSUHSC downtown medical campus, and emergency and trauma services as well as ophthalmic surgeries are now available at this location. A University Hospital-based ophthalmology clinic will open in January, 2008, at a nearby facility in downtown New Orleans.

The LSU Eye Center is committed to the future of eye care and vision science and provides innovative research and an educational program that trains tomorrow's ophthalmologists, ophthalmic health care givers, and vision scientists.
