Steve D. Gill, OD, FAAO
Clinical Director

Dr. Gill is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. A graduate of University of Houston College of Optometry, Dr Gill has extensive experience working with visually impaired patients. Dr. Gill has been the driving force in establishing the LSU Low Vision Clinic as well as the Lions / LSU Regional Low Vision Center. A Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Dr. Gill lectures frequently and teaches Ophthalmology residents and OMT students in addition to maintaining his clinical practice.

 

Duyen Anh Duong
Low Vision Clinical Coordinator

Duyen Duong coordinates patient visits and training at the Low Vision Center. She is also responsible for communicating with referring physicians. Additionally, she assists Dr. Gill in the evaluation of visually impaired patients. She is a graduate of the LSUHSC School of Allied Health with a BS in Ophthalmic Medical Technology. She was the recipient of the Donald R. Bergsma, Clinical Excellence Award as well as being the first time recipient of the Excellence in Low Vision Award.

 

 

Rachael Kancewick, LOTR
Occupational Therapist

Rachel Daigle Kancewick is a 1993 graduate from LSU School of Allied Health - Occupational Therapy.  She has 13 years of experience in the field of Occupational Therapy.  She is currently seeking certification in low vision rehabilitation.
