 16th-Symposium-Header

The symposium, which is organized in Gordon Conference style, is designed to bring together academic and industrial researchers working in the contact lens field. The meeting starts at noon on Wednesday the 14th and ends mid-day on Friday the 16th. There are four half-day scientific sessions. Invited session speakers give 40 minute presentations. Each session covers one general topic such as Lens Materials, Comfort and Dry Eye, Lens Friction/Tear Film Dynamics and Anitmicriobial/Drug Delivery Lenses. At the end of each session there is a round-table discussion involving both the speakers of the session and the audience. On Thursday, there is also an open poster session, during which a buffet lunch is served.  The success of these Symposia stems largely from the exchange of information and ideas among a diverse group of scientists from within and outside the eye care field and in industry. The resulting productive interactions and collaborations provide an energetic thrust toward the next generation of contact lens materials.
